Grilling chicken wings on an Auplex Kamado grill can produce delicious, smoky flavors due to the grill’s excellent heat retention and ability to cook with both direct and indirect heat. Here’s a simple recipe to get the best out of your Kamado.
Grilled Chicken Wings on Auplex Kamado
Ingredients:
· 2 lbs chicken wings
· 2 tbsp olive oil
· 1 tbsp garlic powder
· 1 tbsp onion powder
· 1 tbsp smoked paprika
· 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
· 1 tbsp salt
· 1 tsp black pepper
· Your favorite BBQ sauce (optional for basting)
Instructions:
1.Preheat the Kamado Grill
Set up your Kamado grill for indirect cooking at around 350°F (175°C). Add a few wood chunks (apple or cherry wood works great) for smoke flavor if desired.
2.Prepare the Chicken Wings
Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, mix the olive oil with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss the wings in the mixture until evenly coated.
3.Grill the Wings
Place the wings on the grill grate, over the indirect heat zone, and close the lid. Cook for about 30-40 minutes, turning halfway through for even cooking. The internal temperature of the wings should reach 165°F (75°C).
4.Crisp Up
For crispy skin, move the wings over to the direct heat zone for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Turn frequently to avoid burning. Optionally, you can baste the wings with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes.
5.Rest and Serve
Remove the wings from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Enjoy your grilled chicken wings with that signature Kamado smoky flavor!
