Kamado Grill Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
· Pizza Dough
· 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
· 1 cup warm water
· 1 packet (about 7 grams) dry yeast
· 1 teaspoon salt
· 1 teaspoon sugar
· 2 tablespoons olive oil
· Pizza Sauce
· 1 cup tomato sauce
· 2 cloves garlic, minced
· 1 teaspoon dried oregano
· 1 teaspoon dried basil
· 1 tablespoon olive oil
· Salt and pepper to taste
· Toppings
· 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
· 1 tomato, sliced
· 100 grams Italian sausage, sliced
· 1/4 cup sliced black olives
· 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
· Fresh basil leaves
Instructions
1.Prepare the Dough:
· In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
· In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
· Mix until the dough starts to come together. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
· Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
2.Prepare the Sauce:
· In a medium bowl, combine the tomato sauce, minced garlic, oregano, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
3.Preheat the Kamado Grill:
· Preheat your Kamado grill to 500°F (260°C) with the pizza stone inside. Allow the stone to heat up for at least 30 minutes to ensure it is thoroughly heated.
4.Assemble the Pizza:
· Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
· Transfer the rolled-out dough to a piece of parchment paper or a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal.
· Spread a thin layer of the prepared pizza sauce over the dough.
· Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
· Add your desired toppings: tomato slices, Italian sausage, black olives, green bell pepper, and fresh basil leaves.
5.Cook the Pizza:
· Carefully transfer the assembled pizza onto the preheated pizza stone in the Kamado grill.
· Close the grill lid and cook the pizza for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
6.Serve:
· Remove the pizza from the grill using a pizza peel.
· Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
· Enjoy your homemade Kamado grill pizza!
