The modern concept of a kamado grill was first introduced in the USA after the Second World War. The name “kamado” is, in fact, the Japanese word for “stove” or “cooking range”.
Today, kamado is a general term for a ceramic grill and they have many uses such as smoking, baking, roasting, and grilling.
